What's Different? 2019 Subaru Impreza VS 2019 Subaru Crosstrek | Performance

Both these cars get the same efficient BOXER® engine, but you'll find there are significant performance differences all the same. To begin, the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek gets a limited-slip differential. That improves traction on slippery, loose surfaces which you're more likely to find off-road. That's why the Subaru Crosstrek also gets 8.7" of ground clearance and available all-terrain technologies like X-MODE® and Hill Descent Control. Those features give the Subaru Outback its off-road moxie, and they're also available on the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek for those who want all-terrain ability in a smaller package.

For superior fuel economy, the 2019 Subaru Impreza 5-Door is the way to go. It'll earn up to 36 highway MPG, making it even better suited for the open road. The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek is efficient in its own right, making up to 33 highway MPG.

Finally, while both these vehicles are available with either an automatic CVT transmission or a manual transmission, the 2019 Subaru Impreza gets a 5-speed manual; the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek is available with a 6-speed stick.
