The Mazda CX-9 is rated for up to 250 horsepower, but will require premium fuel to deliver that much. With standard 87 octane fuel, the 2018 Mazda CX-9 puts out just 227 horsepower. It's also limited to a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. The additional cost of premium fuel will add up over time, and significantly increase the cost to own factor of the Mazda CX-9!
