I came in and leased a 2012 Legacy recently. This has been the best experience
at a car dealership I can remember. Nick Smith was great to work with. He didnt
push me into something I didnt want, understood my financial situation and
worked hard to make sure my situation didnt affect me getting my car. The
financial staff was great too. He explained everything in great detail allowing
me to feel comfortable signing the papers and not worry if there were hidden

First off, let me start saying that we've never had a problem at Nate Wade
Subaru. We own 2 Subaru's (yes, we're a Subaru family) and we take both cars in
to get serviced there, even though another Subaru dealership is closer to our
home/work. The reason we chose to do business with Nate Wade was due to an
excellent experience we had a couple years ago when we purchased a used Subaru
there from a salesperson named Lamar. Anyway, this review is about their service
department and not the sales department. Long story short: I brought one of our
Subarus in for scheduled maintenance and whatever else needed to get done, since
having small children at home it gets complicated to find time and someone
available to watch them while I take the car in to get serviced, so I like to
get EVERYTHING that needs to be done, done all at once. So I dropped the car off
early in the morning and picked it up late afternoon so they would have enough
time to work on it. Unfortunately, it seemed that there wasn't enough time to
get everything done to the car, so one thing didn't get done: the recall. For
that reason, I wrote them a note letting them know what happened and soon enough
I got an email from Rich Beeler, the Service Mgr, asking me if he could come to
my house/work to pick my car up so the recall could get taken care of. How
awesome is that? That offer blew me away. So I scheduled a day and time that was
convenient for me and Rich came over to my house and took the car back to Nate
Wade Subaru, got the recall done, and Bill brought my car back and also
addressed a couple concerns I had with the car at the time Rich had come pick it
up. Now, that's what REAL customer service is all about! At first I was upset
the recall hadn't got done in the first place, and I was even ready to go to
their competitor to get it done and get both Subarus served there from then on
but thanks to Rich and for his caring for me as a customer, I am now 100% loyal
to Nate Wade Subaru. I will continue to service both Subarus over there and will
definitely recommend Nate Wade Subaru to all my family and friends! You guys

We came back to take a look at it again on Friday in the daylight and Nick had it washed and ready for us again. 4 points for Nick. We ended up deciding to take the vehicle. Nick got us started on our paperwork and put us in line to meet with your finance guy. It must have been a good for you because there was a line, which was no problem. I know that Nick was off at 5:00 that day because we had time to sit down and talk. It was the day after the big wind storm up North and he was anxious to get home. easy since I used the COSTCO program but aside from that easy process both

One of my concerns was if the 4 cylinder vehicle would be sufficient for getting
up the large hills to Park City. They encouraged me to test drive the car in the
canyon, which convinced me that the car was great. I also had a trade-in. That
process was very smooth and I was offered a fair price immediately. The Business
Manager that handled the financing was also great and got me through the
paperwork in a timely fashion. Finally, Gentry called the next day to answer any
questions I had and also secured me a loaner vehicle for the following week so
that I could have the Zurich Shield applied to my new car (which takes an entire
day).

with questions or concerns and that they would be happy to help. I absolutely

Being from out of town, it was very important that we were able to get
up-to-date accurate information on the internet. Nate Wade seemed very good
about keeping their site up. Nick Westover in Internet sales was very helpful
and patient as we looked at a number of cars. There was never any pressure to
sell; he let us look until we found one that was right for us.
We felt the
pricing was very fair and typically lower than other dealerships. We were also
very impressed with the large selection of used Subaru's -- few other dealerships
even came close. Having a large selection made it easier to make a decision, and
we had more confidence that we were making the right decision and not just
buying out of desperation. When we were finishing up our purchase, Nick Poulos
in financing made it a very pleasant experience -- again, no pressure to buy

right up there with root canals for me.)

Not sure if survey is covering sale or service of the 2010 Legacy (new) or the
2011 Outback (new). So, I'll choose to address the 2010 Legacy, both sales &
service, here.
Sales: Mario was good to work with: Experienced, and
efficient at getting me into a car I'd researched somewhat. Ultimately purchased
through a Costco plan. I personally don't relish 'shopping', but know a purchase
of something this costly, which I expect to spend 2000-10000 hours interacting
with, merits some serious thought.
Service: All staff I've interacted
with has been courteous and friendly. For a one year old car, I've been back to
the dealership several times. The frequency was greater than I expected,
(multiple recalls, DOA stereo system component(s)), but generally, I was in and
out with minimal impact to my personal time.
The dealership itself is a
clean, comfortable, and pretty quiet place to wait for service to be completed,
or a shuttle to my office. Stereo system issues required some back-and-forth to
resolve; the shuttle was tied up in a trip WAAAY out in far end of the county,
but NW staff minimized the inconveniences.
Auto Body: still don't know
how I was unlucky to get a small but noticeable door dent in one of the

crack the paint, avoiding the patch & paint route was a win, both for
ultimate repair appearance and MT time.

getting started because I also knew what I did not want- a fuddy duddy
salesperson with bad breath and polyester pants.
So I thought I?d take my time, send an email to Nate Wade Subaru and request
an extra-special salesperson, one who could make me laugh and not turn into a
class 5 stalker. Nick sent me an email back, confirming that he was indeed a
COOL person who would be happy to help me.
We spoke through email and phone calls for a few days? I was beginning to

I bought a 2007 Subaru Legacy from you in May of 2008. It's been a wonderful for car for me and I've tried to pamper it. However, to my dismay, last night when I pulled into my condo complex and hopped out of my car as I usually do to get my mail at the entryway (leaving my car running, lights on, heater on, etc.), I returned to my car to find it was locked--with my trunk/valet key in my purse inside the car. I do not remember locking the car when I got out (I never lock it at the mailbox like that) and I was stunned and horrified!
I numbly walked to my condo unit and stood in my living room not knowing what on earth to do (thank goodness I have a keyless front door entry lock.) It was dark outside and approx. 20 degrees--and my car was sitting at the front of the complex, with everything running. I was just sick! Finally, after some thought, I suddenly decided to turn to the good folks who had sold me the car, and so I called Nate Wade. I explained my dilemma to the receptionist and she put me through to Joe. He was wonderful. He suggested Glen's Locksmith and looked up the number for me. Then he decided a less expensive route would maybe be the police, as he began to look up their non-emergency number, he had another idea and asked if he could call me back. In about a minute he called me back and said that John Westover, my original salesman, had not yet gone home and that John said he would bring a "dummy" key over to my condo himself to open my car for me! Joe said I would not be billed for their services! Glen's Locksmith would have charged me probably at least $75 just to come out, and than another no doubt hefty fee to get into the car. I could not believe my good fortune at having such incredible help from Joe and John! Neither of them had to do such kindness after a long day of work, and John going out in the 20 degree weather to come help me--for nothing!
John did, indeed, come out and happily unlock my car for me. How very, very grateful I was--and still am! I will forever be in awe of such extraordinary assistance. And now I will be sure to keep the extra valet key in a safe place outside my car--AND tell everyone of Nate Wade's wonderful extra-mile service, even when I'm not in the process of buying a car or anything. Amazing.

Good morning! My name is Penny. I moved here in July 2009 and deployed to Iraq just a few months later. I recently returned from my deployment and knew I wanted to purchase a Subaru when I got back home. I was working with John Westover and then Lamar Moody, when John was not working. I purchased a 2009 Forester XT from Nate Wade Subaru about three weeks ago. I really liked the car, but I knew shortly after I took it home that it wasn't my champion. I've wanted an Outback since they first came out several years ago, so it didn't quite make sense to me that I had purchased a Forester. After much encouragement from Rory, we returned to Nate Wade Subaru to find a better fit for me. I was reluctant to return the Forester because I was prepared to be taken advantage of, given the situation. My past car-buying experiences prepared me for the worst.
We took a 2011 Outback out for a test drive; it didn't have all the options I wanted, but it was a great car, so I prepared myself to compromise on the options. By the time Rory and I returned to the dealership from our test drive, John Westover hadalready found a new Outback within the Valley that had every option he knew I wanted. Purchased a new 3.6 limited outback from Nate Wade in Salt Lake. I worked with Rita Harrington and the whole experience was great. We very quickly came to a good/fair price. Rita was very knowledgeable and professional. She was very responsive and very helpful keeping me informed about the delivery time for the car, in getting my options installed quickly, activating the satellite radio etc.. We had a great experience with a recent car purchase at Nate Wade Subaru. Had an idea of a couple Outback models we were interested in and Nick Westover clearly explained the differences and got us out for some test drives.
We asked many questions, reviewed options and features and then about four hours later came to a decision on the car we wanted. It wasn't long before we settled on pricing including a trade in. We could have shopped around a bit more, but I thought the price was fair so didn't want to waste more time/effort for maybe a couple hundred dollars.
Surprisingly, the 'close' with finance was rather quick and painless. No pitch about undercoating or non-essential stuff. Nick Poulos laid it straight out about some good (and well priced) warranties 'if' we were interested. We keep our cars a longtime so took the 8/125,000 warranty (what a deal).
In the end it was a long day, but the overall process was pleasant and we certainly left with smiles on our faces.

I recently purchased a new car at your dealership and within two months dented my rear bumper (bummer). Because of my good experience buying at your dealership, I decided to use the Body Shop too. They repaired the bumper with a new one and I picked up the car on a Friday evening, June 4th. On Saturday, the 5th, I discovered my credit card was missing and narrowed it down to the Body Shop.

We bought a 2010 Forester from Nate Wade Subaru. We traded in our (only) car that we had had for 13 years. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, all of our questions were answered, and we didn't feel pressured - it really was a great experience.
We were given time on arrival to look around. Roger came over right at the perfect moment to answer questions and let us take a test drive. There was a good selection of vehicles on the lot; we found just what we wanted. Roger then helped us by getting the credit check and trade-in to get the financing started; and getting the insurance switched over.
We then saw Steve who finished the financing and told us of all our options. I really appreciated how helpful and straightforward everyone was, and how the whole process of getting paperwork done was expedited. I also appreciate how the dealership handles getting the license plates so that I can avoid the DMV.
I would definitely recommend this dealership, as well as the Forester - it drives like a dream.

My husband and I live in Huntsville and have been the happy owners of a 2000 Legacy with 227,000 miles. Generally we service it at a Goodyear dealer in Ogden. However, when the car started over heating going up hill, we took it to Nate Wade for analysis. We were very happy with Mitch Leavel who was determined to find the cause. He kept the car for a week and drove it to Park City and Alta in an attempt to recreate the problem. Finally he told us he thought replacing the gasket could solve the problem but he could not be sure.
We greatly appreciate his efforts and honesty. We did not want a vehicle that was potentially unreliable so we decided to replace it. Meanwhile, we had looked at your new cars and were helped by Rita Harrington.

Excellent service and body shop repair performed June 16-23 on my 2006 Subaru Legacy. Joy Hansen (manager) and Chadd Ashby (estimator) were particularly helpful and in constant communication with me as the repairs progressed, and even provided me with a "loaner" when the demanding 3-step auto finish took longer than anticipated. I'd used this body shop's services on a previously owned Subaru, and their service on this visit was as exceptional as I'd come to expect. (I also e-mailed the Utah BBB of my great experience).
The car is beautiful now, and all the body damage is gone, with the auto finish the lovely pearly white in appearance which I'd fell in love with when I purchased the used vehicle from Nate Wade originally. My thanks again to all your excellent staff, which has kept me a regular Nate Wade Subaru customer over the years.

I needed a car. My Honda broke down in September 09 and I attempted to get around without a vehicle. Going skiing/getting my kids to ski school was a stressful gamble every week. At one point I was driving an old car that only started when it wanted to, leaving me and my two boys stranded all sorts of places. I had to call on my friends daily for rides and, although they dutifully obliged, I could see their patience was wearing thin.
One rainy evening when, the old car I was borrowing wouldn't start, I could not find anyone to help me and the buses had stop running, my sons, ages 9 ,5 and I walked home. After that two hour walk in the rain with one child whining and the other one crying I decided I was going to buy a car, even though the thought of a car payment made me nervous.
I decided on a Subaru, if I could afford one, because my children and I ski/camp/travel a lot. I had seen that sign going up Big Cottonwood canyon,"Cars with chains and 4 wheel drive only" and then been turned away from driving up on many a sweet powder day. Maybe, I thought, I should buy for my family's lifestyle and not the cheapest vehicle possible.
That said, I looked up Subaru's on the internet because my one and only experience with a car dealership had been tedious and horrific. It seemed I could afford a Subaru so I sent Brock, the internet guy at Nate Wade an email expressing interest in a few Impreza's.
To my delight, he did not call me but sent me one simple email back, letting me know the cars I was interested in were still atNate Wade if I wanted to come and look at them to call me. Hmm, I thought, maybe this wont be so bad. I filled out a credit application online and made an appt to see him on my next day off.
The day I was supposed to look at the Impreza's, Brock called me, letting me know that only two of the cars I was interested in were on the showroom floor, the other three weren't there yet. Again I was impressed. No bait and switch here. I decided to come anyway, test drove an 08 Impreza which I liked immediately, but decided not to be hasty because I hadn't seen the three other ones yet. Let me also add that Brock let me test drive the car alone, look at it alone and NEVER did he try to put me in some other vehicle or one out of my price range. I began to feel like maybe Nate Wade was on my level. I remember during one of our conversations he said, "You can only afford what you can afford, there's no sense in being uncomfortable..." Hmm, yes, definitely on the level.
Also during my car buying process, Nick Westover, the other internet guy helped me too. Like Brock I felt he was honest and extremely low key. I couldn't make up my mind at one point, he said, "Its fine, here's my number, justcall me whenever you decide something" Really? You are going to let me walk off this lot? Again, no high pressure sales, no intimidation, just respecting my right to make up my own mind.
I did purchase the 08 Impreza. I love it. What I found amusing it that Nick and Brock called me more AFTER I bought the car than before. They were both attentive and helpful when it took me days to drop the car off to get the windshield protector on. They gave me a loaner car which I kept for two days, no one minded.
I had a friend who bought (got coerced into) a truck from another dealership at the same time I bought my Impreza from Nate Wade. She was lamenting the high pressure tactics and her remorse at buying a truck she didn't really want."I didn't go there to buy a vehicle" She said, "I don't know what happened" I told her my Nate Wade story. "Yes," she said "I bought my first vehicle at Nate Wade, they were awesome and helpful, I should have gone back there". Indeed. So should everyone!

We went in to purchase a '06 Legacy 2.5I sedan. Everything went like clockwork. I was surprised to learn that I had just nabbed the last 2.5I SE sedan in Atlantic Blue Pearl with a manual tranny in the state.
The only problem is that they had to drive it down from Ogden, and it was late in the evening. Went to pick it up the next day and I couldn't get over the car!!!
I was offered a 2005 Legacy for the night, but due to my wife getting in a accident some months back I declined. We left my old trade in there and took our '06 Civic coupe home.
Over all a very painless sales commitment. Also the F and I manager is great. I will continue to buy from this dealer for a very long time.

This is a wonderful dealership. The folks are friendly and willing to help. I would highly recommend them. I had a problem with a heat shield on my car. I went to the parts department and asked if I could get a new one. Rather than just give me one the parts person brought 2 out and explained the difference and I received the correct one. I've also had other repairs on my car in both their their body shop and garage and was impressed at the quality and urgency of their work.
